Dead Fish

No mystery that these days everything I write and do (like, for instance, choosing a reproduction for this post)has some dark touch... Even this 2004 fish looks more dead than normal on that plate... But, what can I do? I am who I am and I do what I do... A very intelligent and perceptive Romanian writer (usually that means that nobody but some Romanians have heard of him...)said once: "Do not EVER say something good about yourself because nobody will believe you. And do NOT ever say something bad about yourself because everybody will believe you..." (Garabet Ibraileanu) So, it's not very clever to say that I'm depressed, maybe bipolar? True, almost everybody's depressed these days - c'est "à la mode" - and even bipolarity isn't that rare... So, enjoy my dead fish - if you can - and do not be too harsh with me... Depression is for everybody and one day you'll try it too, maybe...

Poppies

I've always liked poppies (I don't know about opium, but poppies have a great color!)

My mother-in-law (who's a great lady, even if just a paysant in a village near Sibiu, Romania) do cultivate them for the seeds she puts in cookies and sometimes she breeds some kind of tea, to help her sleep... I took some pictures in her garden and Voilà! here is the acrylic ink watercolor which resulted (one in a series)...

As usual, a 9" x 12" Fabriano watercolor paper... I've sold it already, but a replica could be even better (I am like the vine, gets better in time...)

Cantaloups & oignons

I always liked to paint food... being a bit of a Gargantua myself (or Falstaff?)...

Like the old Dutch artists (but not so good, yet...) I adore to represent things you can drink or stuff in your mouth... Here I tried to make something decorative from some cantaloups and oignons...

Still life

Well, yes, I also paint still life paintings... I even like it (in fact, if I wouldn't like it, I wouldn't do it...Remember the story with Renoir and his teacher?) This is an acrylic painting, 20 x 20 inches, and if you want to know the price just email me...
addenda: Sorry, folks! I just sold it ! But I can still paint a replica (not a copy! I don't do copies... I'm incapable of copying something without changing...) and, only if you like it, you'll buy it (an advantage would be that you can order your dimensions, your color dominant, etc. ) It doesn't always (in fact, almost never!) happen so quick...
