Melissa
Another girl's portrait... For Melissa I did 2 portraits, one for her, one for me. I give her the choice and this is the portrait I still have (I would have chose it myself...)
This is a 9" x 12" acrylic ink & watercolor on Strathmore watercolor paper, 300 g, and if interested just email me and I give you all the details.

May in September...
Even if these days were beautiful late summer days - probably not many left - the title is referring to something more simpler...
This beautiful young lady is May (or Mai)...
I've painted her on a 9" x 12" Strathmore watercolor paper, with acrylic ink and watercolors... And since today was a special day (I've received a grant from the big city of Sherbrooke exactly for a project of mine - already started - called "People of Sherbrooke") and May a very nice young lady (I reapeat it but she really was nice, twice as the usual) I gave her the "masterpiece"...

Usually I don't do this...
... but since my good friend Deborah is curious and asked me to do it, well, I cannot refuse a beautiful woman. So here it is, a previous variant of my last posted landscape. It does not exist anymore, of course, since I paint it over... and sometimes I like variants better than the finished ones...
There is something in a painting "a la prima" (the first jet) comme disent mes cousins, les Italiens, which "dies" down in the very finished ones... But that's the way of all things, no? They die... Enjoy it while it last...
The same dimensions, of course.

Stephane
I still have some work to do before I finish my current painting, a landscape... so, I choose another portrait for you. No joke. A very serious fellow, a québecois born from ex-yugoslave parents... There is a large ex-yougoslave minority, here, in Sherbrooke. The French called them "yougoslaves" but they are a very complex lot: Serbs and Croats, Bosniac Muslims, and so on and so forth... A melting pot in a melting pot... Out there, in the war, they used to hate their guts. Here, they succed to live peacefully. What's in their soul only God knows...
I paint this last year and I don't have the painting anymore (but as a shrewd guy, I took a photo of it...it's my usual 9"x12" acrylic & watercolor on Strthmore paper)
So, you can put your checkbooks aside...for now...
A joke...
