An experiment...

Do we need, as artists, to experiment? I think we do. Even if it doesn't sell too well, even if it doesn't sell at all... I really don't think selling should be our aim in life...

This is a Romanian landscape. The original photo represents a view from Ocna Sibiului, a very old (ancient Roman like...) small village/town near Sibiu... It has some 8-9 salt lakes, one or too so salty you'll be pumped out like a quark and you have to be VERY CAREFUL and to moove VEEERY slowly in it, otherwise you'll risk to drown, face down, like a coackroach on his back which cannot turn... (Technical details: 8" x 11" acrylics and watercolors on paper)

On a fishing trip...

I went on a fishing trip, with 2 friends, in the Northern Québec (far enough to be in the "tundra"); we kind of shivered the nights but the days were superb, almost summer... lots of lacs, fire-treas, rocks and not a soul other than us...

I didn't catch a fish but I took a lot of pictures and I painted some watercolors... This is one of them. I kind of like it... something of the scrawny fire-trees (les "epinettes noirs") resilience is, maybe, in the image...

As usual, it's a 9 x 12 inches acrylic ink and watercolor, on Fabriano 300 g paper, US $ 250 to please you...Note, the 06 of Sept. 07: SOLD.

Winter in the old city...

We all have our own mythical territories... For Faulkner was that inpronouceble county Ikano....too complicated...For me, it's Sibiu, Romania... (google it, you'll see...)

I was born there, lived there most of my life, before imigrating to Canada... It's a beautiful (very) old city (first documentary mention about 1192 or something like that). A lot of medieval building and stuff...

This a landscape of 11 x 14 inches, acrylics on Arches rough paper (acid free, of course) and the price is CA$ 250.

Ascot landscape...

I wish it was the English "Ascot"... I always liked the horses (I'll prove it to you later...) and I'm simply a great fan of Dick Francis (with or without his wife Mary....) But this is the Quebec Ascot, where I live, in the great "cité des rivières" which is Sherbrooke.... A lot of picturesque landscapes, I tell you... and not far away from the US border (about 30 minutes) Vermont, Maine, New Hamshire... This is a 9 x 12 inches acrylics on canvas; contact me if intererested...

Windmills...

It looks like Neederland but, in fact, it's a landscape from the "Astra" Open Air Museum ( the largest open air Museum in Europe) near Sibiu, Romania. As a child and a teen ager I've spent a lot of time around and still have some pictures of it... When I get nostalgic, I take a photo and I paint... When I'm sad, when I'm happy, when I'm bored... well, I do the same thing... I paint...

This is a 8 x 10 inches canvas, painted in acrylics, and it's yours for Ca$ 95 ...
